How I achieve long voluminous lashes; for asians

Posted by Unknown at 01:39 0 comments
Hey everyone, it is no surprise that our asian lashes are short, stumpy and overall serve little purpose on our face. But today I wanted to show you how I achieve my semi - ok lashes.

Recently I purchased the Shu Uemura Eyelash curler from David Jones for AU$29. I'm pretty sure they have recently lowered their prices (YAY) from AU$40.
Shu uemura eyelash curler, Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Liner in Place, Maybelline Falsies Volume Express Waterproof Everlasting.

So what I do is curl my lashes by clamping the eyelash curler at the base for 15 seconds, then I move halfway up the lash and repeat and finally at the tips. I then apply the mascara, focusing at the root and slowly wriggling it up to the tips. I also like to blink into the mascara as I find its less clumpy that way. Then I tightline using the Rimmel liner, to make my lashes look nice and thick and voila!

I just wanted to mention the hype about the shu uemura eyelash curler is true. I've never experience pinching that has occurred with all other curlers and it makes my short stubby asian eyelashes to have some length to them as you can see from the picture. I know this may not seem amazing to most people, but FOR ME ... I am so glad.

Also I went to the gym after taking this picture, and after my workout, can you believe their was no smudging and the curl did not drop at all. Props to the maybelline mascara!

Let me know what your favourite mascara tips are.

Empty Review: Daiso Cotton Puffs

Posted by Unknown at 16:14 0 comments

Hey Guys!

Today I have an empty review of Daiso's Cotton Puffs.

OH EM GEE. These are absolutely amazing. No matter how many times you wipe each pad around your face, it won't break apart. I've tried the priceline and the target and the woolworths and countless other brands of cotton pads, but this by far is the best! I have to throw away the pad after I finish using, not because its separated into two parts, but because its too dirty to be used any further. And the value for money is amazing too. You get 90 in a box, and for 2 boxes the price is $2.80.

These cotton pads are also slightly larger than the standard circle ones. They are rectangle, and cover a larger amount of area. Especially useful, when wiping off eye make up and to apply your toner.

It is my holy grail cotton pad, and I will always continue to repurchase.

Let me know if you've tried them out.

What is your favourite cotton pad?

My Eyebrow Threading Experience

Posted by Unknown at 01:54 0 comments
Hey guys!

Today, I went to get my eyebrows threaded for the first time. Now, I've always gotten them waxed because many more salons offer waxing rather than threading, but I decided to try something new. As everyone always says, eyebrows frame your face and so they are CRUCIAL in your beauty routine, and I agree wholeheartedly. When I have tidy eyebrows, I just feel so much better about my face and I believe it just changes your whole appearance.

Threading is an ancient method of hair removal, particularly done in India. It uses cotton thread which plucks the hair from the roots, but the thing that differs it from tweezing or waxing is that its able to create extremely straight lines as it pulls out rows of hairs at a time. Because all it requires is string, none of the chemicals that are found in wax are placed on your face and so this method is great for people with sensitive skin.

So does it hurt?

well, yes, but it wasn't unbearable. If you guys have done anything to your brows, then you will know that it hurts like a b**** the first time. Overtime hair removal anywhere reduces in pain, but yes my eyes did water. The best way I can describe it is like if you press a razor against your skin and the pressure you get from that- well at least thats what came to my mind. Overall, the pain is nothing unbearable, but I did experience some normal redness afterwards.

The result?

Well see for yourself.

I thought the eyebrows were a little thin for my liking, but after filling them in, it was fine. The lady I went to was a joy, and also threaded my forehead for no extra charge.

So waxing or threading?

Waxing is much quicker, but much less precise than threading. Overall, I think I will continually to get my eyebrows threaded, just because I enjoy the absence of all those tiny little hairs that waxing could not get rid off. Also I love how precise it is, and how neat my eyebrows look now. A little pain for a lot of gain :) Also the price point is similar - both $10.00 each.

So which would you prefer?

Are you a waxer or threader?

Priceline Haul!

Posted by Unknown at 01:42 0 comments
Hey guys!

Here's what I got at priceline's 40% off skincare. Looking back, there were more things I wanted to pick up, but I was rushed for time :( aww, oh well, I'm looking forward to trying these things :)

The first thing I picked up was the Nivea Lip Butter in Vanilla and Macadamia. It smells soooo good. Also picked up two Sukin products: the facial moisturiser and purifying facial masque. I'm typing up this post as I'm wearing the mask on my face. It had a really cooling and refreshing feel when I first placed this on, but now I can feel it tightening on my skin, no doubt sucking out all the impurities. And finally the Sanctuary Spa hot sugar scrub. An interesting concept, and I am so excited to try this out in the future :)

What did you pick up?

Did you take full advantage of the sale?

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm

Posted by Unknown at 03:43 0 comments
Hey guys!

An oldie but a goodie. I was in Chemist Warehouse today, and discovered they had just started selling my beloved Burt's Bees Lip balm. I used to use this, but after exploring new ones, I haven't used this in years. Oh, how I have missed this. The tingly minty feeling you get when you layer it on your lips is just to die for. I also appreciate the matte finish, this lipbalm gives. None of the glossy -where has it gone after 5 minutes feeling- you get with other lip balms. Extremely moisturising, apply it at night and say hello to soft supple lips :) I also like the fact that the ingredients are all natural- first ingredients are beeswax, coconut, sunflower and peppermint.

What are you're favourite lip balms?

Let me know :)
